    Damaged rear light

    Hi
I managed to hit rear light and asking advice as to whether I need a whole unit or is the outer lens available separately.
A good used unit is less than £100 but a new is £250 plus. Big Cry Big Cry
    Thanks for any reply.

    Whole unit.

You can’t buy a separate lens, they are bonded to the their backs.

Thanks I had guessed that would be the case!

2018 Discovery Si6 HSE Lux Santorini Black

Just got my rear left had one replaced under warranty a few weeks ago. I posted on here several months ago about it. I also looked into possible lens replacement but it was a no go am afraid. Luckily I never had to fork out for a new one at £250.

Initially I had thought it was water ingress, but on closer inspection, the inside was cracking / crazing all the way around, even though it was never hit. Just a few internal cracks on the bottom, but after a few weeks the cracks had spread all the way around internally. It was replaced, no questions asked, so am assuming it's a known fault.

The only other thing I can think of was that the bolts holding it in place were overtightened, leading to the cracking, as they had to take out both lights for some minor work on the boot lid, as both lights were ok before the car went in, but was only noticed a few days after we got it back.

I backed into a wood pile so my fault.
Found a good used for £90 delivered from reputable salvage company.
    Local garage to fit whenever.

Not difficult to replace yourself tbh. Take a look at the fixings.

If it is anything like the rear light clusters on a D4, it's just 2 screws that hold them in, and a plug for the electrics. For the D4 I got an OEM one from Advanced Factors which shipped to Australia was still less than half of what I could get an LR branded one for here.

    Thanks
Does any one have a link as to how to gain access to the light cluster from inside the tailgate?
    TIA
