Software Update
Hello
A service reminder popped up on the remote app last night, phoned LR this AM and advised a software update is needed.
Any ideas what this relates to?
D5 MY21, D300, 1150mils

maybe related, maybe not - the remote app also updated in the apple app store yesterday, but that seems like a minor change

Interesting..... the service indicator showedx on both apps last night, but this AM only showing on the old app (dark green), nothing on the newer one. just updated and still nothing showing.
i think i may use the older app going forward....

Hi Keith,
It would be interesting to see if the service/software update request is real or not, i.e. the old app might have a bug and the new one fixed.
I am currently only using the new app, so curious as to whether or not I need to have the other one running also.

Its genuine, ive rang the stealer, who has confimred it relates to a software upade. D5 going in on a week Friday.

Well could be an issue with the code that does the auto updates itself or maybe it’s an ECU update and only Pivi Pro can be updated over the air (Probably quite a sensible safety measure to be honest).
Are Land Rover actually adding much to Pivi Pro? I’m not expecting Tesla levels of updates or anywhere as close to be honest.

As it happened - I received an OTA update for pivi last night. I need to check the details properly but the release notes reported something like general stability updates and enhancements to the driver aids such as lane assist and adaptive cruise.
Just to add. I did not receive any notification from either of the remote apps that it was pending. Only from the car display itself.

Thats of interest. just checked both my apps, and the older version that stated a service was due, is now not showing anything. Also, I've just logged into the - LR Dashboard, and again, nothing is now showing. Ill go and check the D5 and see if anything is logged in the updates. May give the stealer a call to check that I'm still required to go in, not something id like to do unless needed.
UPDATE
just checked the D5, nothing showing regarding software update being needed, or completed.
