Squeaky boot.

I know there was an issue with the boot rubbing on the first iteration of D5 which caused marks internally.

Having recently bought a MY21 I've noticed they've inserted some pretty chunky rubber insert which I'm assuming was to negate the rubbing issue.

However on my D5 it seems to has resulted in a hugely annoying squeak, which is worse when driving along bumpy lanes. I can only fix it by turning the radio volume up.

Has anyone else noticed or experienced this issue ?

Post a pic of the new piece? I can then let you know if it corresponds to the location of the wear marks on MY20s

I had a MY20 and had the "rubbing" problem. The rubber parts sit in the plastic plate (there are four in total) and I'm convinced that they are responsible for the squeaks

Yep, that does look about right. Who’d have thought it was so difficult to have a tailgate that accurately fits the aperture

I wonder if vaseline would stop it........

I guessing I'm the only one who's noticed the issue.

Only stops when I turn the volume on the stereo up.

I might suggest a silicone spray like used for door seals on caravans.

Vaseline is petroleum based and will degrade the rubber.
