    My21 recall - Startup battery

    Hi all,

    Anyone else get recall notice N607 through today?

    My21 has been in and out of LR for the last 6 weeks with various leak issues - was all sorted now need to arrange for it to go back in!!

    Annoying but hopefully a quick fix.

    I have not had the recall - but I have noticed that I frequently get "car battery is low, start the engine" warnings along with a jolly bong when I get in the car after not using it for a few days. I had been wondering if there was a battery issue going on but the car starts and drives fine (so far Whistle )

    Got the letter yesterday, car booked in (2 weeks) , said it would be only 1hr so am going to wait .

    Car in and out within 1hr today , examined and found Start up Battery Stud insufficient ground contact and replaced .

    Where is the start-stop battery actually located?
    On a D4 it was a separate battery from the main battery wasn't it?
    How is it done on the D5?

    In all honesty, both my previous Merc and my wife's current Volvo had recalls at some point Mr. Green

    The recalls don't bother me much as I don't think those are necessarily reliability issues, most are preventive. Breaking down or if something stops working as it should does Neutral
