Soaking footwells, windscreen drip and console not working p
Hi we have gone from a disco 3 and various others and now have a Disco first edition 2017 assuming it’s a 5
Had a problem with power to the console and entire front dash but mechanically it worked ok. Listed the fault codes on a site I was on for my previous discovery, got help and mainly sorted it all by getting codes cleared off. Since then, have been relatively problem- free
However … original issue started after storm Arwen. We’ve got everything ok in the car now but no volume on console at all , satnav, all media, cameras and sensors. We’ve noticed a drip inside the windscreen and hard to clear so resorted to putting a cover over windscreen and towels over dash and it’s been better . However we’ve found out the front footwells are absolutely saturated with water , soaking . Clearing water is getting on somewhere. Car is left outside and we’ve been in Kent with heavy rain so thinking water is leaking in more than this spot on the windscreen. The roof area and bar to the driver side is soaking to touch bit not dripping . Thank you

A very common issue see thread below! I have recently been looking at 5s and about 50% that I sat in had drips on the dash . Its a screen out and refit job . I am not sure you will get much help with electrical issues if its been allowed to get that bad. LR should cover the screen refit though
If a recent purchase was it LR main dealer? That may help with getting it fixed or return to any other dealer as unsuitable ,if bought privately your on your own . Sadly they are a vehicle which I would never entertain buying without a full warranty in place.

I recently had this on my 2017 model. Leaking windscreens aren’t covered by LR warranty but the dealer got it reseated by National windscreens at my home as a goodwill gesture. That said the fitters said they were doing ‘loads and loads’ of resealing jobs on D5s….all years!
I suspect the ‘goodwill gesture’ was more a case of covering tracks.

They are not covered under warranty but LR are picking up the good will cost whatever the dealer says . The same as happened with my D4 engine replacement recently . cant make up my mind if its out of the frying pan into the fire as regards the engine and the 20k upgrade for a 12month younger vehicle.I have a few friends with 5s who wish they still had their 4s

Thank you for replying ! Wow re other people having issues . I cleared the scuttle drains as they had muck in them but we definitely have a leaking widescreen.
The footwell areas are absolutely saturated.
Two more questions… how on earth should I go about drying it out ? And is it Wyeth a complaint to Land Rover ? It’s out of warranty ? Thanks again

You could point out that this has been a known problem since the model came in 2017.
Literally 100's must have been repaired under warranty and yours should have been picked up by the dealer earlier in it's life.
My 2017 was never sheltered in a garage and leaked almost immediately.
2017 HSE now sold, if you own WF17AXN then you have a well sorted car!

Mine was towed in by LR Assist dried out at stealers and replaced as gesture of goodwill.
As said before it’s not a warranty claim for some strange reason.

You shouldn’t have a
water leak on any motor, let alone £60k plus motor! But if we are daft enough to keep buying them ….

Can you name stealer who wasn’t interested?
All other posters with windscreen leaks seem to have received LR paid for help including me and specifically acted upon as goodwill not under warranty.

Ha!
The reason I left was due to the complete crap service offered to me over the years by the stealer in the capital city of Somerset!
Unbelievable how long I put up with them and hung on to thinking that things would approve!
No regrets since I’ve moved on.

Hearing about those dealer charges for windscreen reseating/replacing I am thinking my dealer isn’t quite as bad as I thought. They did mine for free and without any pressure from me.
Mind you, the car was in their compound for the 5th time in 3 months for the same problem, when it developed the leak. Wet my pants when I picked it up ….and returned it next day sat on a pile of towels.
Maybe they felt a bit guilty?
Nah.
