    TPMS

    Good evening,

I have just bought some new/used 22” wheels for my D5, it appears they have the later TPMS sensor and valve, does anyone know whether they will still work with my 2017 equipment? I believe these sensors are 2019 onwards.

To my knowledge, they should work fine as the TPMS system is a "standard" and you can theoretically use almost any tpms sensor in any car so long as they are the right frequency.

They might need programming to the cat though.

As long as they are the correct frequently, they will work. The car will automatically recognise them after about 5 minutes of driving.

So, I've now had the wheels fitted to the car and after around 15 minutes it has thrown up a TPMS fault, it looks as though it's not reading any of the tyre pressures.

The new sensors are genuine LR for sure, and run on the same 433 frequency, does anyone know of a reset that I could do?

    Thanks for your help.

If the sensors were new, they ship in a dormant state to protect the battery. They need reading with a TPMS diagnostic tool to wake them up.

    Update for anyone interested...

Sensors were scanned with TPMS scanner and were definitely sending a signal. Tyre garage had to plug in their diagnostic machine to do a forced sensor re-learn and now all is well.
