    Land Rover March Sales

    Land Rover March sales were 22,283 vehicles of which UK buyers purchased 3,284 Discovery 5's. That compares to 7,239 Discovery Sport's and 6,736 Evoque's.

    Excuse ignorance but what constitutes a sale?

    Are these the number of customers who paid the deposit in March, the number who had a car registered in March or something else?

    I don't live in the U.K. but my understanding is that registrations of vehicles make the sales. Please let me know if that is incorrect.

    Very interesting. I suspect the March figures are only really for half a month if registrations are what counts.

    We ordered Nov 16 and didn't get the car until 14 March. I doubt very many sales completed before ours, (we were the second to collect from our dealer) so that would mean the Disco5 is selling at least as well as the DS or Evoque if you accept the 3,248 figure was only for half a month.

    It'll be interesting to see if the tow bar issues slow down the production line in the coming months.

    They haven't made a full release yet. The D5 isn't due to North America till mid-2017.
