    Led Headlights

    Hello I’ve swapped the halogen headlights to led on a discovery 5. The drl,dip,main beam all work but the indicators don’t and the flasher on the dashboard does really fast. There’s indicators in the mirrors and only the rear side panel not on the boot light any ideas thanks

    Google says:

    The MoT testing manual was also updated in 2021, telling testers: “Existing halogen headlamp units should not be converted to be used with high intensity discharge (HID) or light emitting diode (LED) bulbs. If such a conversion has been done, you must fail the headlamp [the car will fail its MoT as a result].”12 Sept 2022
    2017 HSE now sold, if you own WF17AXN then you have a well sorted car!

    You may have been able to do this on a D4 a few years ago, but not on the D5, there re physical as well a software issues that haven’t been circumvented and probably never will be.

    As Jimbg says there are MOT restrictions too, which mean if you’re involved in an accident, then you could null and void the insurance. I’d remove them pronto. If you want LED lights, simply but a car with them already on.

    Think the MOT issue regrets to after market bulbs being fitted.
    If you can get indicators working no MOT inspector would know the car didn’t come with them originally I suspect and I am sure they wouldn’t go looking
    Namib Orange 1st Edition with black roof and wheels.
    Privacy, tow bar, drive pack, surround camera, heated front & rear seats, auto dim door mirrors, side steps, remote Pro, RSE, arm rest fridge dash cam front and rear.
