Looks like they are making some effort for us who love gadgets.

Managing to get a bike rack which tips enough for the enormous tailgate is good, but the roof rack is a bit girlie. I assume the car is not being positioned in the market where an Expo Rack and RAI will be demanded. Most of these accessories would also fit on, and be at home on the RRS - it seems this is the market now....

That roof rack seems to be designed to be used with the short roof rails. I'm guessing that with the long rails, one of the after market specialists will oblige .

Stupid of me. From looking at the accessories list it appears that all the roof top items need the long roof rails. Rolling Eyes

I would hope so, But it still speaks volumes for what LR expect the car to be used for - no more desert rallies and humanitarian trips through the jungle. Tesco and the David Lloyd.....

McGovern said something about roof racks along the lines of:

"I hate roof racks but if people want one they can go ahead and buy and ruin the design."

Speaks realms about the vision of "Land Rover " designers. Laughing

I see that there is a load space security box:

Car safe box made of steel with an anti drill lock provides space to keep a 15” laptop and case or similar items inside. Attaches to the loadspace luggage rails using fixings inside the box.[i] For 5 seat only.[/i] Requires loadspace rails for fitment.

Is the 5 seat model a lower cost or no cost item. I never noticed it in any spec.

I enquired about deployable side steps as I hate the fixed ones, having the same opinion as Mr McGovern has about roof racks......... but now I need side steps . Dealer says "they are not available for Disco5 and may not be as D5 lowers lower than any other Land Rover on air springs that he has seen"
