Recently found two cracks in virtually identical places on the surround of the sunroof. One has a small hole in.
Took it to LR who claim they were caused by an impact (they weren’t) and not covered under warranty. Service manager said they’d seen one before and quoted £1k to replace!! They put the plastic wrap over it (excuse the photos!)
The roof is still water tight - have searched on here but can’t see anything. This seems to be a common fault on the Golf mk7.
Just wondered if it’s repairable? I’ve found the part number (LR083245) but that alone is around £400 and needs bonding to the sunroof surround.

Yes…a known fault which the technician resealing my windscreen pointed out on mine!. He’d seen it on “dozens of” Discoveries of “all ages”. Didn’t bother to ask how it was fitted when he said the parts alone are several hundred pounds. I simply filled mine and sprayed it.
