So no D5 quite yet
In the past, not sooo long ago, we owned a brace of 08 LR3 HSE's in Buckingham blue, within a 1000 units in the VIN, mine was a great vehicle and was weld the hood shut reliable and hers taught me all kinds of things about Land Rover repair....anyways we got distracted by some Broncos, but that had run it's course and now we are back to Rover land. Herself has a 19 Disco Sport and I'm back in a 08 LR3 HSE, and once again it's all right with the world. So here's wher ethe story gets interesting-ish.
By selling both Broncos, we came up with the cash to buy her Disco Sport outright. Bad gnus-the transmission had some strange issues starting on the drive home. Good gnus-there was enough CPO and dealership warranty to cover the whole cost of that annnnnddddd-a loaner.
We were issued a Discovery as a loaner while Land Rover posted a new transmission and they found the time to swap it in their ridiculously clean operating room. We had free run of the machine for close to 2 weeks and in that time it impressed us greatly. When we first saw the new Disco we were not impressed with the new design, well, some time spent driving it has impressed us greatly.
We thought that at some future time we would be finding the best LR4 we could ferret out as the upgrade path. Yeah, we might skip the LR4 and go full Disco. Watching the off road abilities on youtube videos has impressed us more than we may have thought before.
So now time to wander through this forum and think about our plans. Do we swap out the LR3, the DS or both? I have to say these critters are addictive.

My 2017 HSE Td6 has agen beautifully and has been bomb-proof reliable. It only took me a week of ownership to get used to its no-bumper bum. Now I quite like it.
Unfortunately the Diesel is long dead to America, and they won't put the P400 MHEV in it.

Although in US Land Rover do not sell the Discovery with the P400 MHEV engine, they do sell the Discovery Dynamic SE and Metropolitan Edition models with P360 MHEV with a claimed 0 to 60 acceleration of 6.2 seconds.

The loaner was the Dynamic P360, and holy smokes what a drivetrain. Seriously quick and excellent fuel economy for a larger SUV. Of course it might not be so rosy when the hybrid battery goes south or gets North Michigan cold but still impressive.
Might have to let the depreciation work for a little longer for that one.
"Only" an SE level, but with the steering wheel heater, seat heaters and other goodies it seemed pretty posh. The only lacking feature was seat memories.

However, going to
https://www.landroverusa.com/discovery/discovery/index.html and using Build Your Own and looking at the spec for the Discovery SE model it does come as standard with a 18-way heated electric driver memory seat with captains armrest.
