    Remove plastic collar from towbar

    How do you remove the plastic collar from the towbar?

    Isn’t it the same way you would remove the towball from the car? Press something that releases the grip on the plastic cover and/or the car?

    I must admit... to my shame...I honestly don't know, even though I've got a removable tow hook exactly the same as that one that's been permanently attached since I bought the D5... Laughing

    That’s what I thought but it doesn’t want to go over the locking balls even when the handle is turned.

    According to the user manual...it seems you just pull that plastic collar thing off then stow it in the foam rack in the boot...It might just be needing some 'minor persuasion' with some WD40 and a big flat bladed screwdriver or something.

    Put the key in.
    Pull the knob outwards
    Rotate the knob to the fully unlocked position
    The collar will drop off and the knob will stay in the unlocked / "armed" position ready to spring in to the locked position when you stuff it deep enough in to the hole.
