Secure Tracker Pro - Effect on Insurance Premiums
Secure Tracker Pro is a Security option on vehicle builds that costs £475 (includes 3 year subscription) that it states:
Provides additional peace of mind on top of Secure Tracker benefits, by integrating authentication technology into the key fob. The Stolen Vehicle Tracking Centre will receive an alert within minutes if non-authorised keys attempt to unlock your vehicle.
At
https://www.landrover.co.uk/ownership/inco...tures.html it also states:
INSURER-ACCREDITED TECHNOLOGY
Land Rover Secure Tracker is Thatcham Category S7 Compliant and Secure Tracker Pro is Thatcham Category S5 compliant. Having them activated on your vehicle may qualify you for a discount on your insurance premium.
Secure Tracker is Thatcham Category S7 Compliant and Secure Tracker Pro is Thatcham Category S5 compliant.
The Thatcham Certificate for Land Rover Secure Tracker Pro is TSC098 see:

As it says above your vehicle may qualify for a discount on your insurance premium if it has a tracker, as such having a S5 tracker should reduce risk for insurance companies relative to a S7 tracker.
However, the question is are people, that have the Secure Tracker Pro option, finding that it actually makes a difference to their insurance premiums?

Very simple for me. My company insures my D5 MY23.5, and when I upgraded from a MY2019, they wouldn't insure the car unless it had the Tracker on it. Thankfully, as I was buying a Metropolitan Edition, it had it included factory-fit.
Now, I'm sure i probably could have got cover from someone else, but it would have meant changing an otherwise neat company policy all with one provider.

747_JK you say "My company insures my D5 MY23.5, and when I upgraded from a MY2019, they wouldn't insure the car unless it had the Tracker on it"
It is suspect that a D5 MY23.5 would have come with Secure Tracker as standard, was your company (which insures your vehicle) happy with that tracker or did you have to add the Secure Tracker Pro option at additional cost to satisfy them?

You actually made me just check the specs for my car, and there it is, listed in the standard spec for a MY23.5 Metro, "Secure Tracker Pro subscription". Checked in my LR app too, and the sub is valid for the next year, and then I'll renew.....
The insurance company was happy with this precise spec, hence nothing further was needed.

Thanks 747_JK for advising that your MY23.5 Metro came with Secure Tracker Pro as standard.
In the Order Details for my MY24 Dynamic SE it shows:
Option 011AJ Secure Tracker Pro (36-month subscription) £ 530.00
So without this option selected it would have come with just the Secure Tracker.
Going onto Build Your Land Rover section of the UK website I see that Secure Tracker Pro now comes up as a £475 option for all Discovery models.

Sounds like a big increase in price, so you'd be absolutely right for querying it. But must admit I don't understand the feature/benefit difference between the two grades of product.
So I asked Co-Pilot 365, and it said:
The difference between Land Rover Secure Tracker and Secure Tracker Pro on a Discovery (or other Land Rover models) mainly comes down to the level of security and insurance classification:
🔐 Secure Tracker
Thatcham Category S7 compliant (formerly known as Category 6).
Uses GPS and GSM technology to track the vehicle if it's moved illegally or tampered with.
Alerts the Land Rover Stolen Vehicle Tracking Centre if unauthorized movement is detected.
You can activate the tracking system via the InControl Remote app, even if the vehicle is stolen with the keys inside.
Includes features like Transport Mode and Service Mode to avoid false alerts when the vehicle is being towed or serviced.
🔐 Secure Tracker Pro
Thatcham Category S5 compliant — a higher security standard than S7.
Includes all the features of Secure Tracker plus:
Driver Authentication: An additional chip in the key fob provides secondary authentication. If the vehicle is started without this chip present, the system alerts the tracking centre.
This makes it much harder for thieves to bypass the system using cloned keys or relay attacks.
Often required by insurers for high-value vehicles and may qualify for greater insurance discounts.
