Stranded in Paris with no recovery

Car broken into last night in Paris via smashed window
Dealing with that this morning when after loading bags and kids and staring the engine, I get amber engine warning and big engine vibration and running really bad. It’s the 2017 SI6 3.0 petrol supercharged.
Drove flawless all the way here, no hints of something bad happening.

Been trying to speak to land rover dealers in Paris all day, emailing phone calls no one is getting back to me. I need a diagnostics check.

    Could well be abandoned here…

What options do we have without breakdown ? No Land Rover Extended Warranty

    Thanks 🙏

I think that just about sums up my worst nightmare. You don't have RAC or AA membership perchance?

Without that or at least some assistance from a Land Rover/Jaguar dealership in Paris, I'd be looking at finding a decent indy garage to at least carry out a 'get you home' repair, assuming it's nothing major.

Perhaps your hotel could offer some local advice on that?

I wish you the very best of luck in any case.

Sorry to hear about your nightmare. I stopped towing our caravan in Europe when we got the (new to us) D5 after hearing about issues with dealer support or lack thereof. Just lost my pioneer spirit!.

I have a Petrol SI6 as well and coincidentally I’ve had the amber emissions light come up on the dash just this last week. Touch wood the engine seems to be running ok, emissions are ok but the diagnostic said it’s an O2 sensor fault. It stayed cleared for a week but then came back…. cleared once again …. this time it came back in 24hrs. I was told that it was ok to drive because the light wasn’t flashing (not sure if that’s true or a fob off) but it’s going in after the BH.

Just got this info of the net if it’s any help…

A taxi ride might be in order?

    Bon chance

I don’t suppose the people who broke into the car did something to cause this or removed something??
Seems like a hell of a coincidence.

Any suggestions Mole HD as to what could have been done ….or removed …to cause this sudden problem?

Sugar, beer or something poured into the fuel filler immediately sprang to mind...or something jammed in the exhaust. That's assuming the thief/miscreant once they had broken the window to get into the car didn't pop the bonnet and pull a plug lead or 2.

UK plates in Paris, never the friendliest of places to park your car compared to the rest of France as a whole Neutral
