    D5 Radio turns itself up!

    Hi all,

I have only had this D5 commercial SE for a week and until now it's been fine. Yesterday the radio (either on DAB or Bluetooth audio) keeps incrementally turning itself up without any input from me, has anyone experienced this and/or know of any fixes?

    Thanks.

Turns up whilst stationary?? If moving along could be speed sensitive volume control?

Might be a Land Rover thing. By that I mean they are known to randomly throw you a weird one occasionally which mysteriously disappears after a switch off. My D4 would randomly and suddenly lose all connection to the digital radio signal but after a switch off, normal service would resume.

If it continues, the radio is clearly getting input from somewhere and I’d suspect the volume + button on the steering wheel. Has that button got wet recently or is it difficult to use properly, any of these may be indicators of a problem.
It is an odd one though. Confused

I picked the car up last Monday where it has been sat inside a dealership for a few months. It has now been subjected to some pretty torrential downpours (including last Wednesday when I drove from Chester to Bridgwater and back in a day) plus general moisture in the air. The issue started on Saturday and hasn't gone away.

This is leading me to suspect that there is water ingress and the radio electronics under the passenger seat are having a hissy fit.

The volume incrementally turns itself up one denomination at a time, it slowly climbs up over the course of a few minutes until it hits 50. I have switched it off long before that.

It is my understanding that most water ingress issues relate to windscreen sealing/seating.
You should see some sign of water dripping in from above. The recess for the mirror in the back of the sun visors is a good spot for telltale puddles.

Others have said that rear floor puddles may be due to rear aircon pipework.

There also was a recent thread on here about continuous wet floor mats, not sure of its conclusion
