Front parking sensors
Hi
I have noticed that my front parking aid does not activate unless Reverse is selected then put into forward. My dealer tells me this correct? ( Because he said they would activate in traffic) This may sound logical to them but not me.

There was a thread about that very thing a few months ago. Here's a Linky to it
I can see the sense of why it's designed the way you described... particularly for perpendicular parking. You reverse into the space, then shunt forward to line yourself up properly with the kerb (and so on)...so the front parking aid automatically activates after you've first reversed in to the space.
I did initially set it to be always on after asking how to in that thread...but it became so irritating going off at waving bits of grass, random road shadows or potholes and generally just being so annoying at slow maneuvering speeds that I turned it back to the default setting.
I can still switch the front parking aid on from the little parking sensor icon on the bottom of the centre touch screen if I ever felt the unlikely urge to override the default setting again
