Remote start failure
I have a 2018 Discovery5. The app on my apple phone windows will local/unlock the car but the start engine facility informs please check windows are closed or need resetting. ?
Any observations on how to fix this?

The remote start only works when the car is locked and all windows closed.
Perhaps the car isn't correctly detecting that the windows are closed.
A window reset is really easy. Open the windows a little then close them fully. Once closed, hold the switch in the close position (up as high as it will go) for about 10 seconds. You need to do this for each window.

So now it still has not started but the message that it previously came up with isn’t shown anymore!

Might be worth trying again after you've driven it.
The remote start will only work once then the engine needs to be run before it will start again.
Drive it, park it, lock it, try again.

Very wise, always allow these motors to sleep before trying anything especially when it comes to programming and even then, you may have to repeat the process.😉

Have you removed the app and reinstalled it again?

Not driven today but will see if it’s corrected itself with the window reset and if not I can reinstall the app although tbh the other remote controls on the phone work fine.

The good news is that since having driven the car and reprogrammed the windows that the remote start to heat the car up now works a treat.
Thank you for all those that contributed to the cure!
