centre dash noise
First time Disco owner this week and unfortunately have a problem straight away with my 2022 metropolitan edition. I get this strange squeaky fan/wind sound from the centre dash area when travelling around 60mph. Any ideas what could be the cause?
Turning the fans off makes no difference.
Unfortunately can't upload a video on here.
It's approved used so they should sort it but would appreciate any ideas about what could be the cause.

When I first picked mine up I had a strange rustling sound from the centre air vents...on investigation, I found the pollen filter was almost completely clogged by bits of paper that had been forced through onto the top of the filter (where the fan is) from the lower glove box, which had presumably been filled full of rubbish and old letters by the previous owner at some point.
The rustling sound got worse if I switched to recyled air and put the fan on full... the noise vanished when I removed the bits of paper and old letters that were covering the filter. I also replaced the rather dirty paper pollen filter with a K&N washable one.
It might be worthwhile checking the fitment of the pollen filter just to check there's no big gaps round the sides where a draught could be getting past it.
A rough video guide on how to access the pollen filter and AC fan...

I had a similar sound which was intermittent and noticed about 3 weeks before I spotted wet carpets at the front.
It may well be you have the start of a leaking windscreen.
Its currently in for a new screen and replacement carpet.

Have checked behind the glove box, removed the pollen filter and took a stray leaf out but hasn't fixed the problem.

I tried all that too, even had the hoover nozzle in it. Removed leaves from around the wipers, cleared the water drain routes near the bonnet hinges and checked the foam pads were secure on the underside of the bonnet hinges but the "wistle" was still there.
I could alter the "tone" slightly when altering the speed of the heater fan but expect that was just because the incomiing air from the fan was holding off the air leaking in to the cabin.
Unfortunately the windscreen leak is a common fault on the D5.
The plastic kick plate can easily be prised up with a trim tool and your fingers, which will let you feel the sponge underneath the carpet.
If you do a search on here you will find lots more about it and dealers are well aware.

Think I've found it, water dripped down on the inside of the windscreen from top left and think that is actually the source of the noise too. Booked in for landrover to have a look but hoping quick windscreen re-seal is all it needs.

Dealers generally don't do a reseal, that will be a new screen, common issue on Disco 5.
