D5 Commercial - access to spare tyre
Hi
I converted my D5 to a commercial version and have now drawers fitted
Now no way to access spare tyre release mechanism
Are there any tips how to still access the spare tyre?
1) is there an option by having a set up the puts a release on the outside
2) electric motorised mechanism fixed under the board that would lower the tyre by remote
Probably 1) not safe and 2) too complex
Any ideas?
Tx

My neighbour has a remote electric spare wheel winch fitted to his 2026 D350 commercial (And the 2023 D300 commercial he had previously). It's worked from an added independent switch fitted underneath the deployable towbar switch in the boot.
Since he's a farmer and only buys the SE or HSE commercial option, the conversion, if it is one, is all done by the time he takes delivery. I've no idea if it's a standard fitment on the factory commercial variants or not...but it would make sense.
Can't for the life of me find a remote conversion kit anywhere...so I suspect it's a dealer or specialist 4x4 indy job.

Thank you for the reply
Indeed, can’t find any reference to a kit (JLR or other) anywhere. Some articles about DIY with different kinds of motors being used (with the caveat of having one strong enough to lift the tyre)
Continuing the search
