    Intermediate Oil Change. Reset or not?

    I’ve started doing an intermediate oil and filter change between dealer services at 6months / 5000 miles.

    It was recommended by the techs at a local LR engine rebuild workshop when I asked if there’s anything I should do to reduce chances of the dreaded crank failure. I wonder if anyone else does this?

    Anyhow, should I reset the oil service interval/reminder or just leave it be? It will be serviced on schedule with the dealers regardless but I wonder more whether it changes/resets anything operational in the car. Using my scan tool I noticed there are various computed metrics around things like estimated oil soot levels and fuel dilution. I imagine telling the car it’s had an oil change will reset some of those.
