    Steering Pull/Correction

Hi everyone. New to the forum as I have just taken delivery of a 2017 HSE Luxury after upgrading from a Discovery Sport.

I’ve noticed when driving on town and uneven roads that the car is always trying to correct the steering, almost as if it thinks I’m veering out of a lane so it tires to correct - except I’m not, it can happen when I’m in the middle of a lane. I know about LKA (Lane Keep Assist) and LDW (Lane Departure Warning) but as far as I can tell from the settings I have available in the Driver Assistance menu on the steering wheel, LKA isn’t there; only LDW (which I don’t believe actually corrects the steering?).

Can it be that I have LKA enabled somehow but I can’t access the settings to turn it off? If I remove my hands from the wheel and try and veer out of a lane, the wheel DOES pull me back in, so how can it be doing that?

I have that in a different car and have to constantly turn it off because it drives me mad - is that possible or has anyone had a similar issue?

Feels like it would be impossible to drive with one hand because I almost have to fight with the wheel to keep going in a straight line. Any help is appreciated (I have zero mechanical knowledge 🤣).

It does sound like the Lane Departure Warning is what's causing it. If LDW is activated, there's 2 settings. Haptic feedback through the steering and a physical mode (LKA) that'll try to keep you in lane unless you're indicating....which sounds like what you're fighting against. Like most of the Driver Assist features, turn the bloody things off...the car will feel like a different beast when you do.

There's quite a few settings hidden in that centre dash menu so it's worthwhile having a look through them...

Handy Link here to the online users manual to give you a rough idea. It's worthwhile bookmarking it for perusing random settings and stuff. Thumbs Up
