    Automatic door locking?

    Hi all,

I'm trying to find a way to lock the doors from the outside when the car is stationary but occupied.

The wife sometimes borrows it in the evening and I'm concerned some clever sod will open the passenger door when she stops at the lights.

I've seen the option to lock the door at different speeds, don't know if that will solve the traffic light stop security, or if there's a better way?

The Disco 2 had a deadlock universal lock button on the centre dash so you could lock all the doors from the inside when stationary...can't remember if the D4 had one on the drivers door near the window controls or not. I'd be surprised if the D5 didn't have one too, I just haven't looked...

I know there's a setting on the centre dash menu for drive away locking, not sure if that stays active when you come to a stop or not.

    Edit:

Found this image...I think this is the deadlock anti theft switch in front of the seat memory buttons... according to the pic.

There's two options that will help.

1: Drive away locking. When you reach the set speed, all the doors lock and stay locked until you open them from the inside. They stay locked when you stop e.g. at traffic lights etc.

2: Two stage unlocking. The driver's door unlocks first (from the inside or outside) then you have to unlock the car a second time to get the remaining doors to unlock. It prevents and unwanted passenger opening a passenger door whilst the driver is getting in or out.

You can also just use the switches on the door as in Mole's photo to lock and unlock as you wish.

Thanks Jon and Mole, just tried it out, all of those options work fine.
