    Parasitic drain how to

    Hi,

I installed a new battery in My Discovery 5 HSE 2 years ago. Last Friday the battery was dead and i couldn't even unlock the car. Last Thursday the car ran perfectly fine.

I think there's a parasitic drain somewhere in the car, and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to perform a test on all the fuses in these cars. The issue i see is that I need to lock the car, and leave the car 15mins for all the modules to go to sleep. However, how do i then get into the car to check the fuse boxes without waking the modules up?

I guess i will need to trick the car into thinking the doors are closed by closing the door latch?

    Thanks!

I was pretty fortunate so far to have found a relay which was warm to the touch when i unlocked the door, all the others were cold. I verified that the relay was indeed not opening the circuit and was in a closed state with a multi-meter first then with a 9v battery. I still want to run a check once i have a new battery to see if the current draw is still too much, with an amp clamp.
