Mine runs out next year...won't be renewing at that price either. It may be worth £40 per year or £60 for 2... certainly not worth anywhere near £260. It's a limited use phone app fer goodness sake. JLR marketing must have been smoking some weird plants when they came up with that one

In the UK, the annual cost depends on which JLR connected service your vehicle uses:
InControl Remote (Remote/Protect): £40 per year. This includes the smartphone app with features such as remote vehicle status, journey history, and (on compatible vehicles) remote climate control and lock/unlock.
InControl Remote + Secure Tracker: £260 per year if your vehicle also has the Secure Tracker theft-tracking service.
Some owners have also been offered a 2-year Remote-only renewal for £60 on certain vehicles.

It will only allow me to use the £260 package.
The remote only is not an option offered.

Yes, I've signed on to have another look.
It only gives the option for the full package, not remote only.

Maybe it is MY related?
If my car’s renewal next year is £260, then I would not renew. Its limited use is not worth it.
I find syncing destinations from the house very flaky …maybe my wifi isn’t not strong enough in the garage?
I frequently have to go to the car and input journeys there, to save the comms hassle.
Same with remote door locking….very hit & miss. If the car’s been asleep for too long, I have to use the fob.
Journeys info can be useful….knowing when/where I went on a particular day (an age thing!) and the cars performance. But that gets boring and it’s use wanes..

When I log on to Incontrol, remote and secure tracker pro are listed as two separate services, with secure tracker pro expiring at the three year mark, and remote expiring at five years.
So looks like they are definitely two separate items on my MY.
if my remote start heating were to cost me £260 to renew i would not be happy, but looks like I have three more years before I need to worry about it.

Secure tracker was always...at least until now...a separate subscription to the Remote Pro services.
Seems like they're trying to force both subscriptions together as one package if the £260 renewal is now a thing. I'll have to wait until next August to find out as that's when my current Remote Pro sub expires. Strangely enough, the Secure tracker pro subscription wasn't available (for the Bling Barge anyway) when I started off my Remote services sub last year...I did ask the lovely Glynis at In Control customer support at the time as I assumed it was part of the whole In Control package.
The Secure tracker sub may well be a MY thing...since it wasn't available for my ancient chariot, even as a separate sub. Might also be worth phoning up In Control CS to ask for some clarification. They're a fairly friendly and helpful lot over the phone from my experience.
