    Aye, my front caliper carrier bolts were insanely tight too, way past sensible torque levels. I had to use the breaker bar and my big rattle gun to shift them when I changed the front disks....which reminds me, I've still got the rear disks and pads to replace. Neutral

    When LR or indy garages replace the disks...they stick the car up on a lift and the 'fitters' tighten the carrier bolts up from underneath, usually without using a torque wrench. Mainly because you can get a bigger swing with a breaker bar if the car is up in the air...added to literally bathing the bolt threads in Loctite. Add a few thousand miles of heat expansion and contraction and it means that anyone trying to remove or replace the carrier bolts on their front drive with the car on axle stands struggle to get the bloody things loose.

    Those filler plugs being over tight is concerning though...

    Yes they are way way past the torque setting. They are stretch bolts too on the Brembos. It wasn't an indi though that last had their hands on these bits, it was Land rover

    As for your trolley jack bending the step brackets...I usually shove my jack fairly far in right where the inner bolts are...ie, not near the edge where the steps are.

    I carry the old d3 jack, scrap the scissor jack I had mine collapse on me and I was only using it as a last resort to swop a wheel out. I lift the cars suspent Then go for the wish bone
    I’ve never had issues with it lifting and you can get them off eBay easily

    Well well well.

    Having a tidy up in my shed a few weeks back.
    I also came across an old relic from the past. One of the air jacks Alex posted. Group buy. Never used it. Just more junk in storage.

    Also Viair compressor....again never use!!

    Those group buys for bargains weren't much of a bargain after all.🤣😂😂🤣

    Remember taking it out on a few green lane trips many years ago. never got to use em tho
