    Getting Expensive This . . .

Seems i'm just turning up to the point of multiple failures with the D5 (5 year old). My previous post was a fuel leak which i've managed to get fixed with great help from the forums.

Today i step into the car with 1 thing staring me in the face and another thing may have went under the radar when i bought the car.

#1: Airbag light has come on. Great. Airbag s'stuff' not covered with the warranty. Looks like it will have to go in for fault finding (no i don't have an iiD tool (wish i did / could afford one)).

#2: May have went under the radar, but the passenger side of the cabin blows cold only. I've read a little about this and found it can be a temp sensor thinking it 80 degrees so will only blow cold to regulate temp. Another one that an iiD will probably find.

It doesn't sound like you are having much luck at the moment but hopefully it won't be anything serious.
For the airbag fault these can be related to some of the plugs under the front seats not connecting properly.
Had either of the seats been moved prior to the light coming on?
It would be worth unplugging and re-seating any plugs under the seats just to rule it out first.
Just disconnect the battery first so there is no chance of the airbags deploying.
I'm not sure about the heating issue but hopefully someone has experienced similar before.
Sounds like it could be an issue with the control flaps as it is only on one side.
Let us know how you get on.

Weren't MY 2020+ cars involved as part of the airbag safety recall? It was all discussed over on this thread.

Since the airbag isn't covered by your warranty, it might be worth checking it out or pressuring your LR dealership on the issue. If your car is indeed covered by the JLR safety recall, in the process of rectifying that issue, whatever is causing the airbag warning lamp to light up will be fixed too.

As for the HVAC issue...likely a temp probe or control flap on the left hand side as Baz mentioned. I'm just wondering if a poorly or incorrectly fitted cabin pollen filter could be a possible cause...just going by the way it's fitted in.

The only reason It popped into my mind is that I had all sorts of issues on the Bling Barge with poor airflow and temp control out of the vents when I first picked it up. I discovered that the top of the pollen filter (the fan is underneath it) was obstructed by sheets of paper and old letters that had been forced over the top lip of the lower glove box and into the pollen filter when the car was set to recycled air over the years. I found letters and paperwork dated back to 2022 in there...all from the second owner. (the one before me).

The perils of shoving a load of crap into the glovebox until it overflows and not replacing the pollen filter...

Thats a great shout. I've booked the car in on Friday for the security update. I will ask the question then,
