  Inner tailgate operation

  The inner powered tailgate doesn’t come down when opening the tailgate with the button on the vehicle but works when the button for the tailgate inside is pressed it also goes back up when you close the tailgate. I’ve tried manually pulling it down but it doesn’t reset it. Not tried it when using the key fob.
  What’s the potential likely cause?? And fix

  Design.
  
  It opens automatically with the tailgate when you open it with the gesture (kick the bumper) or the button on the key fob.
  
  It stays closed if you use the button on the tailgate or the button on the dash near the driver's seat.
