I never thought the one under the hvac was particularly secret…with a big button saying “OPEN” on it.
It took me 12months to notice the ones in the rear section side panels. I then put some bits and bobs in them …….and was missing those things for 2 years before I remembered where I put them!
Theres a lot to be said for open shelf storage.
There is a fix for the non opening OPEN button somewhere on this forum…but as I don’t know what that featured is actually called, I couldn’t find that either

Yeah, from what I can gather from the pic below, they changed the 'secret' compartment button on facelift models with the Pivi Pro screen to a long unmarked silver button.
I take it your HVAC panel looks something like this with the long silver button at the top to open it, Swansty...
...rather than this one which is like Wolfie's and mine?
Anyways, besides the different shaped buttons to open it, I have a suspicion the mechanism works the same... We had a chat about a few fixes for the sticky HVAC 'secret' compartment lid a while back on This thread (link) as Wolfpack mentioned...
Seemingly, the recommended fix is to press small c shaped nylon or rubber washers onto the pointy rubber locking pegs...I just massaged a bit of silicone grease on the 2 small rubber pegs on mine, open and shut the compartment a few times and it's worked fine since...
If it's a bit reluctant to open by just pressing the button, try pushing the top of the compartment lid inward slightly then pressing the button at the same time...sometimes works.

Swantsty has a MY2022 HSE though... so he should have one even if it was a specification limited feature...
Am I right about the secret compartment button being silver on facelift models though, Jon? I've never seen the inside of one in real life to know.

It should have it if it's an HSE and yes, it will be silver as shown in the photo.

Thanks Jon. I honestly had no idea until I found that pic... I initially thought it was a RR interior photo when I saw it.
Going back to finding silly secret cubby holes on the D5...when I first picked mine up a couple of years ago, Mrs Mole went to put her handbag into the centre cubby box when we first clambered into it and discovered there was a fridge in there that the dealer hadn't mentioned at any point during the sales process.
He hadn't ever mentioned the Bling Barge had a Heads Up Display either strangely enough, so I was quite chuffed when I first started it up to drive it home.
Likewise finding the under floor storage bin in the boot where the locking wheelnut tool and the removable tow hook keys were as I was about to lower the spare wheel to check it a few days after I got it home...or finding out that LR had at last put the air compressor in the front under floor compartment in the boot instead of hanging it underneath the sill like the D4 to rust away... that was a surprise too.
