Front - Side Marker Lamp - Signal Stuck High

I have had codes B146B-24 Front Left - Side Marker Lamp - Signal Stuck High and B146C-24 Front Right - Side Marker Lamp - Signal Stuck High since owning the motor, now that it is dark nights again i am looking forward to oncoming traffic flashing at me as they think i have my full beam on.

Has anyone had these codes and been able to fix them. I am thinking it is a bad earth somewhere but apart from that the DLR and everything else works fine, if it was an earth i would think that the full LED would be playing up.

    Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

I've seen those error codes before...can't remember if it was something randomly thrown up on mine or if someone else had them pop up. 'Side marker' sounds more like it's to do with the daylight running LED's than the headlights though so it shouldn't effect your hi/lo beam pattern.

I've had a few flashes from approaching motorists at night...or the annoyed flash of brake lights when I've come up behind a car every now and then even though my headlights were dipped...and I thought the same so I had my headlight alignment rechecked. It was fine, although with the height of the headlights on a D5 and being surrounded by white LED's, it may seem to other traffic that they're a bit bright.

The headlight beam pattern is checked on the MOT at any case...so I can't see it being an issue.

I have a feeling that those marker light faults may just be random background DTC's...same as I keep getting ones for my heated headlamp washers...they seem to work fine, even though I keep getting the fault codes. Neutral

Yes, you could be right enough.

No matter how many times I clear the codes, they keep coming back. With oncoming drivers flashing their lights at me occasionally as well, I honestly thought something must be at fault.

Did you ever get to the bottom of the problem with your rear parking camera? The wife said ours didn’t display one day, worked again the next, then stopped working the following day and hasn’t worked since.
I removed it from the tailgate, but there were no obvious signs of water damage and all the connectors were clean.

As for the intermittent reversing camera, from what I gathered from around the net, it looks like it could be tied to a crimped or damaged wire in the rubber trunking where the boot links to the car. Some Jaguar models with electronic boot lids were recalled for this fault... and although it's not a common issue on a D5 (yet)...the likelihood of it of it being tied to this particular wiring fault is a distinct probability, especially if none of the other camera feeds are effected.

I went through the usual stuff like replacing the camera and checking the connectors etc for water ingress as well as testing the camera control module for errors to no avail, the error it was throwing up in the IID tool was 'incorrect or insufficient voltage'...even though the reversing camera is the only one effected of all the 360° cameras... which kinda rules out the camera control module as a source.

It's also the only camera isolated by that hinging boot...so the potential for a crimped or degraded wire going through that rubber trunking to the boot is there. A few thousand times of opening and closing the boot over the years, wiring loom perhaps braided a bit too tight at the factory and it kinda makes sense...

Mine still works some days...then stops working. Every time I think that it's stopped working completely, I'll stick it into reverse and the camera will work until the next time it doesn't. It's completely random and it's doing my nut in. Yesterday on a trip to the island shop, I put the car into reverse 3 times...the camera worked once. Rolling Eyes

I did toy with the idea it had something to do with the electronic boot locking...a bad sensor connection there maybe, even though it's never once thrown up any DTC's or errors so it would only be stumbling about in the dark looking for a random fault that has no sign of being there in the first place..

As much as it pains me...I'm thinking of shoving the Bling Barge into the local 4x4 indy in Kirkwall for their sparky to suss out, their head fitter is JLR trained so I might just bite the bullet and hand it off to them rather than me mucking about like a blind eejit with my multi-meter and a wiring diagram.

Is it a catastrophic fault? No, certainly not since it's not tested as part of an MOT (mine just sailed through it's MOT on Thursday with it not working). It's handy sometimes when I'm hooking up a trailer...but besides that, I rarely even glance at the damned thing and use the old fashioned method of reversing using the door mirrors through force of habit anyway...but that annoying empty black 'V' with a 'Consult your LR dealer' in the middle of it is infinitely more annoying and distracting than having the reversing camera image on the centre screen.
