Seems like they have used a generic photo of the Luxury mats and used them for the Premium mats also. Mind you my premuim mats are plain black with no LR badges on them. However states that they have a LR badge on them. Possibly it's also a cut and paste error, and should have ommitted the LR badges on the description, hence the confusion. Plus no waterproof backing on my ones either, just cheap and thin. Rolling Eyes

Irrespective of what the picture shows, the description of the Premium mat makes it clear on what should be supplied:

    Luxurious - NO
    Deep pile - NO
    LR Ingot - NO
    Waterproof backing - NO

Can't see they have a leg to stand on here. (apologies to any monopeds out there that may be offended by this statement)

I totally agree with you mate. I queried the same thing and was told that was all that came. I will look at the part number on the rear of the mats tomorrow Rolling Eyes

If the site will let me, I will post a pic of the Luxury chaps tomorrow.

They are nothing like the premium, black, thin things that I bought for the D4, which sound like the Premium mats offered with the HSE Lux and FE.

    Will photo them both together.

It would be an interesting conversation to have to see how providing the goods they have supplied is an "improvement upon the specification", costs cutting yes, improvement no!

I think that the best way to describe the difference is that the Luxury mat is more hairy! The Premium mat is much more like the base carpet material installed in the car. You can see the Luxury set is thicker too.

I am being given a set of Luxury mats FOC by my dealer and my Premium mats will probably end up in another customers HSE who has no mats at all.

My salesman has told me this issue is causing a lot of grief for them, either from disappointed customers who paid for "premium" mats or those who cannot believe no mats are supplied in the HSE.

It is staggering that JLR think this is acceptable in what is an expensive luxury SUV.

    Winger

There's a world of difference between those two examples, unfortunately mine seem to be of even poorer quality with cheap vinyl edging rather than the stitched example you have !

Yes - that's the old type Premium mat. I should have made that clear - though the carpet material is the same or very similar.

I was offered a set by the dealer, and when I saw them opted for rubber mats instead, and bought the Luxury ones.

Part of the whole HSE with no mats issue is caused by the very misleading brochure:

The mats for the HSE Lux are under the "Replaces HSE content" leading you to believe that some kind of mat in the HSE has been replaced by a premium one.

The mats should have been under the "Contents of HSE, plus" column. But they are not.

This is the rubbish I was supplied with. You can get better mats at Poundstretcher. My mates Dacia Duster has a better set of mats than these embarassments. It's like the cheap carpeting you get in offices. Rolling Eyes

Doesn't the brochure state premium not luxury?

If the car has been supplied with premium, where's the problem, it's been supplied as advertised.
