In negotiations over a build and being told April for petrol HSE Luxury but i can have First Edition in march but they don't do it with petrol Confused And they cant confirm if i can have all the accessories i want on delivery either!

Told them I'm not signing anything until I've had the XC90 on loan either way.

Just got my build date same as above 17th March for delivery 5th April. Censored
So who is liable for the increase in road tax for the first year as I placed a deposit for a "on the road price" of £XXXXX. Obviously land Rover knew about the increased road tax in April. So couldn't possibly expect to build all the vehicles they have taken deposits for, before April.

    Craig,

I think you'll find.... You are.

If you read the small print it will no doubt say that the OTR includes the VED applicable at the time of registration. It's out of LR's hands so .......!

Effectively -assuming you've ordered a3.0D the increase on delivery will be £300 and for each of the next 5 years after that it will be £180 extra ( £140+£310 vice £270).

    After that it's£130 saving (£140 vice £270).

Thanks for that scrumps I suspected that would be the case. I know £300 is not that much in the scheme of things but obviously its £300 I would rather not pay, especially as I will be keeping this one for longer than my normal 3 years so it would have been a good saving over the years if I had got the car before April.

With respect to the above quote it does seem the rich get richer. As my order is also the SE.

    Craig,

I think you'll find that running a Defender, an RRS2 AB and ( currently) a D4 HSE that the only "Rich" around here are the local Land Rover Dealers.!!!!!

I'm sure my bank manager would agree with that too! Very Happy

I like your wife's reasoning there Craig.

Perhaps you could get her to have a chat with mine and I could get an upgrade. Laughing

Being a Yorkshire man and a practicing one at that. I find it very difficult when she says "if that's what you want and that's what it cost then get it" I really need someone to remind me to be thrifty and not get too carried away. Laughing

My dealer thought there was a good chance I would receive in March even though the build dates is the 17th. His thinking being they will pull out the stops to shift them in March. Of course he could just be telling me what I want to hear. Rolling Eyes

Mines saying pretty much the same, it should be here just before the start of April but he says it could go either way.

    Hi,

I've become good friends with the sales manager at my Dealers, so I trust what he tells me.

If you look at my (SWMBO's) dates on page 1 of this thread, they roughly equate to the timeline of my RRS2 AB that we picked up on 1st March.

E2E build is about 3 weeks, then about a week to QA (especially on a new model - remember the Ewok & DS hold-backs!). Once released the haulage company have 6 "working days" to get it to Dealers, then they need scheduling through workshops for PDI and accessories & cleaning.

I reckon our dates starting build on 17th. Feb will be "tight" - build starts in March will probably be delivered by the EasterBunny. Very Happy
