Suggestion for making this D5 site useful as possible.
Hello all
As we know The D5 is a young & evolving site.
I'd like to invite people to use this topic for enhancing "our" site by suggesting ideas here.
My suggestion.
Use the subject line with clear topics to make info easily searchable.
As the site grows larger this will prove invaluable for finding information & preventing double posts.

Also need the quote key. A "like" post key would also be nice to save reading a duplicate post only to find the only addition is little men rolling with laughter. I know I've done it but that thats the only way to appriciate a post.
And SPEL check.

We discused a like button over on the D3/4 site and found it of no particular use so the idea was dropped. Martin will no doubt give us a better reason. We dont want to encourage posting for the sake of getting likes! do we?
Im sure once the cars are out the site will evolve and more ideas will be placed in here.
One thing I bet you have all overlooked is this page

Nah.

Made a donation the day I joined the D5 Forum and I got a message saying thanks for your donation to the Freelander Forum.

I told Martin so I assume he diverted the donation to the correct account. I guess that very few make an annual contribution in monetary terms but we should.
Bill
PS It's possible to insert a 'like" function without upping the post count. It is notified by the "liker's" name appearing in the headline of the relevant post.

In terms of donations I posted this a while back in the wheels section
I hope I don't have to because I want my PDs on the D5

Hi all
I'm really hoping they fit the D5
But in case they don't decided to clarify.
To be included winner should be prepared to pick up (Norfolk Kings Lynn ish)
£250 to me (cash) on pick up. £250 to forum (Martin)
I get to choose dibbers (people I hope will use & not sell on)
Independent final draw maybe Martin?

Not sure of the politics of it i.e. post count mentioned. I just see it as a way to thank someone who's taken the trouble to reply or find something out for you or as given you a good laugh.
Is me or as that quote key just appeared. I know I've been looking at this thread on my phone as well as computer but sure it wasn't there earlier on D5.

The quote facility is only available from the second newest post and posts before that one.
For instance I could not quote your remarks but could have quoted PeterW's post above yours.

I would just like to see it up to the same standard as the D3/4 site.

Surely the "like" function is irrelevant. You can see how popular a thread is by the number of views it has received - I accept that isn't an indication of whether or not the readers like the thread,
BTW "Quote" function, this morning I see that I can now "quote" the last post in a thread.
