I thought i saw someone on here who took delivery Laughing

What kind of figures are you getting consumption wise, or are you still on your first tank of fuel ??

Any reason why you chose petrol over diesel, apart from slighter better acceleration, smoother/less noisier engine and cleaner emissions (less polluting)???

I'm of the mindset that if you need to know the mpg it's not the engine for you Thumbs Up

Sorry J77 i have too disagree with you there mate.

All my cars have been petrol as i favour that over diesel, always have done and will do !! (apart from my van).

Road tax has never been an issue, either has mpg.

My cars lucky too hit 25mpg and road tax is half as much as the D5 is.

I cant expect too have supercar performance on a frugal 1 litre engine with £25 quid road tax a year can I ?? Rolling with laughter

Anyhow it was just a comparison thats all. I also put a post up asking other 3L diesel drivers how much they got on a full tank a while back.

If i do decide too stick with the LR brand then i dont want another problematic engine like the 3L diesel i have had, hence asking about the petrols fuel consumption, thats all, before i take the plunge.

Fingers crossed after the SVR RRS shape change next year, that will be my new toy, and thats even thirstier than the D5 petrol verion.

So to say that Petrol is not for me is incorrect. Running joke at work is that i have petrol running through my veins. Laughing

Hmmmm more like Diesel is not for me but Petrol instead me thinks !!!!!! Thumbs Up Laughing

I assume when MPG crops up in conversation it's an important buying factor. Therefore the diesel is the engine for the OP not the petrol. If petrol is the preferred engine then just go ahead, buy and enjoy the performance and refinement.

J77, mpg has never bothered me. I bet virtually everyone who purchased a D5 had a squint at the fuel economy, before taking the plunge. Am only asking if anyone has had any issues with the petrol engines that's all. Its my wife's choice at the end of the day and am only going to advise her as she will be driving it 99 % of the time. She has always had diesel as she is a bit more thrifty with her pennies than I am. However she was forever complaining about my cars fuel consumption as it drank like a fish, and was always having too fill it up. Just have to wait and see what she decides. Rolling Eyes

Hey Road Rummer. Why did you say the petrol polluted LESS than the diesel? One of the reasons I picked the diesel was due to the fact it pollutes less, or so I had thought. In North America diesels are rare. I thought I was doing my part by buying a lower emission vehicle.

Over here the government is obsessed with Nox levels, which diesels emit more of than petrol, C02 emissions were so last week, hence petrol is now cleaner.

    Hi there,
I've now driven the Si6 for 1500km and my consumption for 10-30 km journeys lies at 12-13 litres, for longer journeys (+60 km), countryside, it goes down to 10.5 (which was the long-time overall average of my X5 40D).

I've not done any longer runs yet Wink

It is thirsty, but I think while learning to readapt to a petrol I will get even better values and the car will also "run in".

For the rest: I love this car. Smooth driving, well working Start-Stop, great sounding engine, excellent performance for overtaking or just for driving fast...

(sorry for the metric system Wink )
