Glad it helped.
Apparently the boot sensors think something is obstructing the boot hence it doesn't open.
The silicone spray lubricates between the seal and boot lid and which means that the boot opens freely
A simple yet effective fix.
However, it shouldn't need done in the first place.
My car goes in next month to get a faulty/over sensitive front parking sensor fixed/replaced
