I have the stainless steel front and rear bash plates on my RRS L494, they are very nice BUT you have to take them off to access the recovery ring mounting point which renders them useless if you have to take them off to go off-road! Hopefully for D5 Land Rover might have had a design rethink. It seems that they are more for looks than off-road practicality but then I expect 99% of modern Land Rovers never get further off-road than Tesco's carpark.............. one reason for the 2WD, small engined versions of RRS and D5 I suppose, all show and no go.

No 2WD available, though there is no low range on some RRS models and on some D5s in certain markets.

Sorry, my mistake to say 2WD, I meant no transfer box and low ratios - on RRS it saves all of 18kgs apparrantly, which is counted towards the emissions reduction........ and less taxes.
