    Dear Colleagues

    A limited number of Discovery vehicles may have been manufactured away from process and in some cases, the Exterior 'A' Pillar Windshield Moulding may come Adrift.

    Action to be taken

    Where permitted by local legislation please contact the owners of the affected vehicles and request that the vehicle is made available at the earliest opportunity for the vehicle to be inspected and where necessary the Exterior 'A' Pillar Windshield Moulding replaced. A sample customer letter for you to use is attached.

    Unsold vehicles must be repaired prior to hand-over of the vehicle for retail sale. This Service Action supersedes Update Prior to Sale Notice 2917-1.

    The parts below should be ordered through Land Rover Parts in the normal manner.

    Drive in/Drive Out 02.02.02 0.2
    Warranty claims should be submitted quoting the program code N042 together with the relevant option code from the table shown below. This will result in payment of the stated time. As option codes are used there is no requirement for you to enter SROs or parts; these are repeated here for information only.

    The option that allows for the drive in/drive out allowance can only be claimed if the vehicle is brought back into the workshop for this action alone to be undertaken.

    Warranty claims should be submitted in accordance with the current Jaguar Land Rover Warranty Policy and Procedures Manual and its amendments, unless stated otherwise in this update prior to sale.

    Workshop Procedure
    noteNOTE: Exterior 'A' pillar windshield mouldings may be referred to as windshield moulding in TOPIx Workshop Manual.

    1. Replace both of the exterior 'A' pillar windshield mouldings (see TOPIx Workshop Manual section 501-11: Glass, Frames and Mechanisms - Windshield Moulding).

    Had a poke around this morning and the rubbers seem loose at the bottom of the trim.

    Is there anyway of knowing what run of vehicles are effected?

    F50, Fourtack, LR3 and now..............D5 HSE TDV6

    Just check them, if they are rock solid then you are OK.

    Mine has a lot of play on the drivers side, your passenger side!!

    Very easy to tell.

    Just to confirm we are talking about the rubber seal shown in the picture. I can move mine quite easily by pushing it on both the the near side and offside.

    Yes my rubber would get "sucked" out by the wiper action .

    Mines all booked in for the 31st, to get this fixed and the black plastic trim reattached on the C-pillar.

    Exterior A - Post

    Had both sides replaced today. Didn't relise that they renew the black plastic A Post covers as well as the rubbers.

    Also got them to do the gearbox not in park warning -Bul number LTB01077 . Hopefully this works.

    Well my one has been in the dealers all morning, spent the morning running around in a Disco Sport SE Tech, quite nice to be honest, anyway had both recalls sorted but the little trim piece on the C-pillar requires a stay at the dealers body shop at another branch as the 3rd tow window needs to be removed to repair the trim. Just about to collect big Jaffa and see what the dealers saying.

    The cars back but requires a 2 day stay at the body shop so hopefully get it in sometime the end of August.
