I can make changes up until 1/2/17 but been told changes before this date could easily make it an April build. At the moment it goes down the line on 10/3/17, with delivery expected before April but it will be tight.

Does anyone know earliest the car can get registered? Is it the delivery date.

I took delivery of one, if not the first, Evoques in private ownership in 2011. Lookers Park Royal supplied it and they could not register it before 11am on the day of launch as LR had embargoed the date and time of first registration. As it was on a private plate they were able to put the plates on it ready to go at exactly 11:05am 11th September 2011 after it had been registered at DVLA! It's all up to when LR want dealerships to start registering the cars. The next day I drove it to Scotland pretty much in the knowledge I would not see another one on the motorways of the UK and I didn't see any others but I was the centre of attraction wherever I stopped en route home.

If your vehicle is to be delivered to you on 31 March It will need to be taxed from 1 March. Under the old system, ISTR that the dealers could get a reduced rate for that one day or few days at the end of a month but DVLA have probably closed that door.

    Bill,

The sales manager from my Dealer has just dropped in for a coffee ( and drop off prezzies) and I asked him about the tax issue.

He reckons we will get our car on the 31st March with "53 weeks" tax on it. As it will (hopefully) be registered before the 1st April then the old rules (and rates) will apply.

    Have a good Xmas

The good old days, I ended up with a hamper from my dealer as my one was delayed, supposed to arrive Christmas Eve, arrived mid January.

Off Topic I see in the latest Autocar magazine with the winning and loosing manufacturers (in terms of UK sales) for 2016 Land Rover sales were up again BUT Evoque sales increased by 33% compared to last year which is quite amazing for what is a poorly built, over priced piece of fashion statement (and I had two of them!). Despite the press saying that DiscoSport being the big seller in mid-year it appears that Evoque is still outselling it. Also the F Pace way outsells the Jaguar XE.

I expect sales will increase even more now that the part designer has been awarded the OBE (Other Censored 's Efforts). Laughing

All LRs cars are now nothing but fashion statements. I can't honestly say I'm impressed with the new Disco, I don't dislike it but I'm not bouled over by it.

FYI Victoria Beckham had NO input into the design of the Evoque, she was only asked to enhance what became the Victoria Beckham Limited Edition of which only 3 of 300 built were sold in the UK, but they were £88,000 a pop and more than £92,000 if you specced it with the matching designer suitcases.......... sold like hot cakes in the Russian and Chinese markets though!

The time between the build date and delivery to the dealer seems hellish long. What are they doing with it? I asked the same question of TLR for mine. Build date week commencing 13 March, delivery to dealer 4 April. Sad

    Bill,

    Haven't a clue on what's happening - I'd rather a long time for QA than to be LR's R&D dept !

I just checked something on my RRS - the dealer had the VIN a few days before the car turned up - once the Dealer "calls forward" a car - the transport company has six" working" days to deliver.

TLR should be able to register your car as a March car - for the lower VED etc.

Might be worth keeping a close eye on things.

BTW - I had a play around with our car at the weekend - I haven't' changed the spec - just played around with the "packs" - and I've managed to save a total of £560 over the cost of buying all the bit separately - but it was a pig to sort out - my Dealer now has my "homework" to show how you can mix packs and make savings !!!! and I've got rear "climate" seats for FREE - just like PeterW !!!!!
