Cost of electrically deployed towbar?
I have just come back from spec'ing our new HSE and have gone for the auto towbar. On the final pricing summary, it shows the cost as £959 but on the configurator shows that the cost is over £2k. Has anyone worked out why there is this difference?

One is for a factory fit at build time, the higher price is a dealer retrofit.

The £959 is the cost at build. The £2k (or whatever) is the dealer fit price. ie if you had one fitted after the car had been built.

OK, thanks, got it but I don't see where it can be included in the configurator for a factory build.

It shows in the optional features section of the configurator not the accessories section. Only on my phone now but it does appear. I can post a screen grab later if you need it.

Now it seems that the electrically deployable towbar won't be available until May! My HSE is due by the end of March but when I specc'd it last week, the dealer came back with the news. If I waited until May, I'd fall into the VED trap and the cost of that just wasn't worth it. So, back to the manual one ☹.

interesting - my build has one was scheduled for the thirdweek in March, and went into the system as locked down on the 18th of January. Is this recent news ?

Neilk,
Interesting - our HSE was LDOC on the 19th Jan but build starts on the 17th Feb with delivery to Dealer 24th March and we collect on the 31st.
Seems a longer than usual delay between LDOC and Build for you.
Scrumps.

Scrumps,
Sorry I re-read that and I wasn't clear it was dealer delivery not build date. Mine was due in the dealer on the 17th with my original specification and I added a heating steering wheel which pushed that back to the 24th of March. I haven't actually had a build date shared but it sounds like it could be going down the line at the same time as yours. Certainly no mention of an issue with the tow bar.
Thanks,
Neil

My build is 3rd March, delivery to dealer 24th. But, as I said, I only specc'd it last week so the original allocation assigned for the early adopters may have been used up.
