It's not the maintenance I am interested in...Topix explains the technical detail and principles of systems and how they work.
Anyway, its only a tenner as you say ...maybe you have shares in them ...

Yes, but it does specifically say '2017 -2024' 'All engines covered' and it only actually covers 2017MY and those engines - all other years and models are out the window.
So not nasty for 2017MY o ...

I was actually really surprised when they made low ratio an option, because weight in respect of emissions is everything ..so saving 35-40kgs for the 95% that don't do heavy offroad is meaningful. ...

I've had 2 D5's one with Hi\Lo and now just Hi. I have a reasonable amount of off road experience from the days of D3, D4 and tbh were we always in low off road ..no. It did have its place though.

Which MY D5 do you have, Ecosse, and does it have a hi/lo range or only a hi range?
If you select Sport and then use the paddles to invoke manual transmission mode, it should hold the current gear ...
