Far more likely the private seller did a cheap repair and got shot of it, than a Land Rover dealer fitted dodgy parts and rebuilt the engine.

On my previous one i did have water coming dripping out of there when i had a windscreen issue, so I'm afraid to say it looks worryingly like you may have some water coming in the windscreen seal.
