Don’t think I’m going mad, but it’s possible.
My car was in the garage a few weeks ago for a few things and a number of recalls were carried out.
However, I went to use the electric deployable towbar and I think the switch panel has been changed. I don’t remember two buttons, one to deploy it and the other which looks like it does a light bulb check.
Yep, same as mine, mine also has the guard around the switch, would be better if it had a flip up Perspex lid to prevent such accidents whilst in transit.
Can it be activated whilst it has a coupling attached ? Surely not ?

So do you not think that this is a bit of a poor fix. I was told they changed the software and fitted the bezel. I think they could have just made a change to the software that would have been enough. ie if car is not in park do not deploy or retract. Also there is a weight sensor built in .if hitch sees weight do not retract. its not that hard yet they put a plastic shield around it. If this was school homework im sure it would come back "could do better"
