has anyone bought the 2 or 3 bike rack that goes on the tow bar? have you had issues tying down the bike?! i borrowed one (the 3 bike one) this weekend and i had to deflate the wheels so that i could actually manage to use the straps that come with it!!
i'm not sure if it's cos of the geometry of my bike but i think it's quite useless that u can adjust where the wheels sit BUT the straps stay in the same bloody place! (anyone know if you can buy longer straps?)
does anyone have a bike with Fatty or Plus wheels and use these racks? cos i'm thinking of getting a bike with plus tires so even more worried about getting this bike rack now. as last option i'd just use ratchet straps i guess, but i'd rather use the ones that come with the rack and not have to worry.
i've attached pics but not sure you can tell how forced the straps are and that the wheel are actually deflated!

I have one made by Thule that looks the same. For my bike I've had to move the attachment point of the straps - easy to do - just 1 allen key needed. For SWMBO's smaller bike the straps are fine where they are.

I know this does not answer your questions, but thought i would chime in with my purchase.
I got the Hollywood racks model made for Electric Bikes and the straps move along with the wheel holders. No issues at all if you have a large or small bike. Takes tyres up to 3" wide.
Other than a bit of rust stains coming out of some of the joints, I'm very happy up to now.
Thinking of giving it a bit of an oil treatment to cure this.

i checked on these and the attachment point of the straps is actually used as part of the support sort of thing so i don't see how i could move it... not that i spent much time checking it out either tbh but from what i saw i don't think ti can be moved, plus the online instructions don't mention it being able to move.
i might have to look at other makes.

I use a Thule tow ball mount, which I think are the same as LR sell, my bikes have changed over the years and eventually had the same problem with the wheel straps being too short to lock in the ratchet mechanism. I found Thule XXL straps for rack here
Even though my rack (Thule G3) was about 6 years old and obsolete the traps fitted fine, took about 15 mins to fit 3 x sets, mind they are long and may need to be cut.
BTW the Thule rack has been an excellent buy, got it from the Netherlands much cheaper than the UK even with delivery, its been on 2 D4's and now the D5 with no issues at all
