Traded in my Disco 4 for a 2017 Disco 5

    Hi all

Just thought I’d say hi after registering on here today

I was an early member of the Disco 3 forum, progressed to the Disco 4 and now have arrived here.

I’ve already posted a question Smile

    Your D5

I am thinking of trading in my D4 for a used D5 also, but I have been hesitating over the oil dilution issue. Is yours a 3.0l, and if so what is its history as regards early oil changes?

My service light at 3,500km said 0km left so booked it in and at 4,500km it had an oil change under warranty. Currently at 6,800km with 12,000km to go until a service is due. Mine has not had the N222 software update (for MY18) which I would think will extend the intervals. MY19 SD6 - the jury is still out but indications are it seems under control.

This is often referred to as the oil dilution issue but various people have tested their oil and didn't find the actual dilution to be anywhere near what the car estimates it to be.

I live on the outskirts of the city, the dealer is pretty much on the way to work if I drove instead of taking the train. And the service outlet is next to a train station. It's not too much hassle for me to take the car there on my way to work and pick it up when going back. At least the car gets a clean inside out regularly this way Smile

Looks like a 2lt SE. If so, it shouldn’t have a dilution problem.
