  Disco Sport correlation with this engine is a complete red herring ...relate it at your peril ...set up is completely different as is the comparison against the ZF 8 speed

  I feel qualified to judge as I've done circa 12k miles in DS, D5 and Velar with the 240 d engine and they're very different characters. It is definitely better suited to the ZF8 rather than the ZF9 speed gearbox. Fuel economy in Velar is better than DS for what it's worth and is underrated in D5 form.
