    Critical Question - Cup Holders!!

I'm concerned I may have to refuse delivery of my new car because of a very good travel mug my son bought me recently!! The mug in question does not fit the cup holder in my Mercedes Vito dashboard, nor does it fit the cup holder in centre console of my wife's BMW 2 series and the mug is so good that I'm seriously considering getting rid of both vehicles for safety reasons as I cannot holster my coffee while driving!!

How big is the cup holder in the Disco 5?

I realise its a big ask to request that someone goes out to their car in their dressing gown right now with a tape measure, but I can't stop thinking about it!!!

The cup in question has a diameter of 70mm at the base proportionally increasing to 95mm at the top (185mm tall)

    Thanks in advance!

Sorry, but anyone that thinks it’s okay to drink from a mug whilst driving is putting themselves and others at danger.

For storage of a mug, go and visit a dealership with said mug and try it out. I am sure they’ll understand.

Can be for the passenger as well Wink my wife always puts her tea mug in it as well!

Anyway: I have something like 70mm on the bottom and 80 on top.

And this mug doesn’t seem too dangerous to me:

    That's not a cup. It's a bucket!

But I'm sure it will fit. The one I use is 85mm-ish at the fattest part and fits snugly.

Agree with that when moving, but traffic lights here can be red long enough for people to fall asleep at the wheel. Coffee is a necessity. And a loud horn.

What are these traffic lights you speak of? I live in the Highlands of Scotland. I’ve recently travelled over 100 miles on single track roads up here and didn’t see another car.

Just be glad you don't have them.

It begs the question why drinking coffee while driving in your situation would be "putting others at danger"?

In a few words - sheep, deer, cows.

When you are on the NC500, idiot non indigenous drivers, normally in convoys who seem intent on breaking the word land speed record.

Protip: You can remove the rubber inserts in the cupholders in the D5, and then a 1L Nalgene bottle fits perfectly. It's effectively a 9cm wide by 21.5cm tall cylinder.
