Side mouldings
I'm considering getting some side mouldings, I haven't seen any on a car yet though. Are they going to prevent car park dings from doors opening on them?

Hi,
Look at our Firenze HSE in the "My Discovery 5 " section for ours with the bright version.

Thanks Scrumps
Do they offer a bit of protection? They look like they sit below the crease in the doors.

Hi,
"Protection" is very subjective.
They do stick out past the crease but, if it were a Defender next to you, the bottom of the door is higher than both!
The D5 doors are quite sculptured so it's possible that another similar shaped door might ding you, or a shopping trolley.
I think it's as much peace of mind rather than an engineered solution - and they do look good on ours too.

Here you go, side protection and roof rails.
I had side protection on my D4 and it did What it said on the tin, also helped break up the large door panels.

Hello, first post here, and perhaps an odd one to start off with, but amazing the extent to which the black rubbing strip breaks up the appearance and reduces the 'heavy sided' look. Looks so much better in my opinion.
I wonder what could be done to have a similar effect on the rear end appearance?

Thanks Stingray, not looking its best there as it has a fair covering of grime on it.
, but the protection certainly improves the appearance IMO

Gave mine a wash and spruce up. I think the black mouldings would look ok.
