How to tell if a car is a MY18 onwards?

    Hi All,

I'm putting a deposit on an Ex Management Discovery TD6 HSE Lux. Registered March 2018. Will this be a MY17 or MY18? Is there anyway that I can find out? I'd only want the MY18 a will want N222 applied if it hasn't been already!

Best way to check is to look at the VIN: H prefix is for 17MY, J is for 18MY, K 19MY, L20MY
This is the 10th digit in the VIN

Other easy way on Hse upwards is that 18my gained the configurable instrument display. 17my and current S & SE get the 2 sight tubes with small display between them.

As far as am aware, the MY18 started production in Sept 2017, and has the digital dash as Trevorb1 has stated Thumbs Up

Our one is also a March 2018 registration, and we put it off until the upgrades like the dash were implemented.
After asking the dealer, they said it will be a September 2017 onwards build.
I mentioned not happy paying the 2k price hike, and not getting a digital dash, so the build was started in November.

Thank You All. This one has the configurable instruments so we're good. We're buying a TD6. so I'm insisting on N222. Does that usually fix the early service alerts?

My 18my Tdv6 had 3 early services at approx 5000, 10000, & 15000 miles, at the last service it had N222 applied, since then I've done 13000 miles and car is showing another 3000 miles to next service. Either N222 has recalibrated the oil dilution algorythm or they've turned it off altogether and its now working to the 16000 mile distance. Same journeys since new, so I havent changed driving style.

I have a 2017 Td6, it wanted an oil change every 6000 miles. Since it had N241 update, despite some days doing 10 trips of 2 or 3 miles a time, its on target for 16000 mile service. so either the calibration was wrong on them all, or the update just hides ongoing oil dilution!
