thule wingbars whistling
So here is todays bit of mundane but hopefully usefull info for those of you who like me have Thule wingbars to use with your roofrails.
If you have ever noticed, under the wingbar there is is black slide cover for the slots where the feet go, the idea being that once the bars are fitted, you move the slide to cover the slot left open underneath, but...................................................
If you do that the bars whistle/sing at anything over 55mph.
If you leave the slides open, even on just one end of each bar they dont, they stay quite even over 70mph.
Here endeth todays lesson

I've never noticed any whistling on mine, I'll check but I thought mine were 'closed' both sides, and the rubber strip in the top. Although I took out a small section of the rubber strip to slide the CB antenna bracket on, so that bit is open.

I can confirm the opposite, my wing bars were making a tremendous noise when (two of) the slides were open and super silent when all were closed!
