    Towing electrics?

Can one of you lucky so-an-so's whose already got their car tell me if the towing electrics are the new(er) 13 pin type? (Mine's here next week 😁).

Thanks, I thought it was a new standard but didn't know there was a choice.

I never saw a option. I did keep saying I wanted the 13 pin. But he (dealer)sort of assured me there wasn't a choice . I've not got mine yet.

Well I requested 2 sockets, the standard 7 pin (12n) and the new 13 pin (as I have 2 trailers). Nothing on the online brochure either about the electrics. What's transpired as far as I was told by my dealer is that you only get 1 socket type. Plus you can get an adaptor socket for £79.99 from LR which screws onto existing light socket on the vehicle, one sides 13 pin and others 7 pin, so effectively you can use either type of electrics depending on the trailer. I suppose makes sense as you may want too add the extra caravan socket also (12s), like I had on the D4. By the way £80 quids extortionate. Halfords is alot cheaper, plus I bought mine from eBay for £10 plus I bought a socket tester as well. It's brilliant, it plugs into the trailers light socket and identifies what lights faulty or fused or broken wiring. Saves so much time and effort.
Also for mot purposes they will test the 13 pin too see if it's working. If not it's an automatic fail - harsh 😞

Ps anyone got photos of fixed height adjustable towbar with the tow eye cover?? Cheers 👍
