  Tail gate opens then part closes

  Can anybody help.
  
  Powered tail gate opens fully then closes a good 6 inches.
  
  To say I’ve hit my head is understatement 🙈
  
  I’ve powered open, pushed open fully and it falls back to same place. I’ve then closed manually to try and reset it.
  
  Any help much appreciated
